The CU Anschutz Lecturer Pool is a database of CU Anschutz community members who are interested in teaching opportunities, ranging from single guest lectures to full-course instruction. The pool includes information about each individual’s teaching experience, educational background, and training in pedagogy, allowing course and program directors to identify qualified instructors for graduate-level courses.

The Teaching Opportunities List allows programs and course directors to share upcoming teaching needs, such as guest lectures, course coverage, or instructor positions. Posting opportunities here helps connect programs with qualified educators from across the CU Anschutz community.

The Academy of Medical Educators at CU Anschutz, housed in the School of Medicine’s Office for the Faculty Experience, is a faculty development organization that supports excellence in teaching, curriculum design, and educational leadership. The Academy is open to all educators on campus and offers members access to a community of practice, professional development opportunities, and institutional recognition for their contributions to health professions education.

The Teaching Opportunities List features current openings for teaching experiences at CU Anschutz and other universities in the Denver metro area. You can also sign up to receive email alerts when new opportunities are posted, helping you stay informed about ways to expand your teaching experience.

The Learning How to Teach program is a multi-workshop summer series presented by the Career Development Office to help graduate students and postdoctoral fellows build a strong foundation in evidence-based teaching. Participants explore how people learn, practice designing active and inclusive learning experiences, and develop materials such as a lesson plan, teaching statement, and optional syllabus to include in a teaching portfolio.

Trainees who complete all workshop requirements earn a digital badge and receive a special annotation in the Lecturer Pool to highlight their teaching preparation. The series typically runs in the summer, with enrollment opening in late spring. Check your email for announcements from the Career Development Office or contact us for more information.

• Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL) Network at CU Boulder offers workshops, courses, and resources for graduate students and postdocs interested in evidence-based teaching.
• CU Denver’s Division for Teaching Innovation and Program Strategy (TIPS) offers workshops and micro-credentials focused on innovative and inclusive teaching. 
• CU Anschutz postdocs and staff may use their CU employee tuition benefit to enroll in courses across the CU system. For example, the CU Denver School of Education & Human Development offers several certificates and graduate programs.
• Denver School of Science and Technology STEM Apprentice Teacher Program. A year-long, paid residency for individuals interested in secondary science education. Apprentices work alongside mentor teachers while completing licensure requirements.
